Enhanced pyrocatalysis of the pyroelectric BiFeO3/g-C3N4 heterostructure for dye decomposition driven by cold-hot temperature alternation

Abstract The BiFeO 3 /g-C N 4 heterostructure, which is fabricated via a simple mixing-calcining method, benefits the significant enhancement of pyrocatalytic performance. With growth g-C content in heterostructure pyrocatalysts from 0 to 25%, decomposition ratio Rhodamine B (RhB) dye after 18 cold-hot temperature fluctuation (25–65 °C) cycles increases at first and then decreases, reaching maximum value ?94.2% 10% while that pure ?67.7%. enhanced may be due generation internal electric field strengthens separation positive negative carriers further accelerates their migrations. intermediate products reaction also have been detected confirmed, proves key role pyroelectric effect realizing using catalyst. shows potential application pyrocatalytically degrading wastewater.
